Detailed Itinerary
Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu
On arrival at Kathmandu International Airport, our Anjaneeya Holidays team will warmly welcome you with a traditional Nepali greeting. You will then be transferred to your hotel in the heart of Thamel, the lively hub of Kathmandu. After some refreshments and time to settle in, our guide will give a brief orientation about the educational tour in Nepal. The day ends with a welcome dinner at a traditional Nepali restaurant, accompanied by a folk cultural performance, giving you a first taste of Nepal’s rich heritage.
Day 02: Kathmandu & Bhaktapur – World Heritage Tour
Today, explore the rich history and culture of Kathmandu and Bhaktapur, guided by our expert team. Begin with Kathmandu Durbar Square, visiting ancient palaces and courtyards that showcase centuries-old architecture. Continue to Swayambhunath Stupa (Monkey Temple), a 2,500-year-old Buddhist monument perched on a green hill, offering panoramic views of the city. Drive east to Pashupatinath Temple, one of Nepal’s most sacred Hindu temples dedicated to Lord Shiva. Non-Hindus can observe religious rituals from across the river. Next, visit Boudhanath Stupa, also known as Little Tibet, a majestic dome stupa surrounded by Tibetan culture and monasteries. After Kathmandu, head to Bhaktapur, a living museum: Explore Durbar Square, the Golden Gate, and the Palace of 55 Windows. Walk to Nyatapola Temple, a five-story pagoda showcasing exquisite craftsmanship. Visit Dattatreya Square, the famous Peacock Window, and traditional pottery workshops to see ancient techniques in action. Return to Kathmandu in the evening and enjoy free time at your hotel.
Day 03: Trisuli River Rafting & Overnight at River Resort
Today, enjoy an exciting drive from Kathmandu Valley to the Trisuli River, one of Nepal’s most popular rafting destinations. Upon arrival, the captain and river guide will provide a safety briefing. You’ll be equipped with paddles, helmets, and life jackets. Experience thrilling rapids while floating downstream, taking in the scenic river views and spotting local wildlife, including kingfishers, egrets, cormorants, and eagles. After a few hours of rafting, reach the riverbank and transfer to a charming river resort. Spend the evening exploring the rural village, observing local farming, and experiencing village life firsthand.
Day 04: Drive to Ghale Gaon (1,700 m)
After breakfast, depart from Trisuli Riverside Resort and drive towards Besisahar, the main town of Lamjung district. Continue along winding mountain roads, passing through forests of rhododendrons, oaks, and pines, and enjoy views of Annapurna, Lamjung Himal, and Manaslu Himalayas. Arrive at Ghale Gaon, a traditional hill village known for its Ghale community, famous as Gorkha soldiers. Receive a warm village welcome and check into a cozy homely cottage. Spend the afternoon exploring the village, interacting with locals, and learning about the unique culture and customs of the Ghale people. In the evening, enjoy a folk song and dance performance by the villagers, followed by traditional dinner.
Day 05: Hike to Bhujung Village
Today, enjoy a full day in Ghale Gaon, with breathtaking views of Annapurna, Lamjung, and Manaslu Himalayas. Take a short, scenic hike to Bhujung Village, the largest Gurung settlement in Lamjung, located at 1,600 meters. The hike is mostly downhill and perfect for enjoying the mountain landscapes. Explore the traditional Gurung houses and experience their vibrant culture and daily life. Return to Ghale Gaon in the evening for your final night in the village. Enjoy a cultural program performed by the villagers, join in folk dancing, and savor traditional Nepali meals.
Day 06: Drive to Pokhara & Hotel Check-In
After a memorable stay in Ghale Gaon, drive to the beautiful city of Pokhara, famous for its snow-capped mountains and serene lakes. Arrive and check into a hotel located near Phewa Lake, offering stunning views of the Himalayas to the north. Spend the evening relaxing by the lake or enjoying the scenic surroundings of this peaceful city.
Day 07: Full-Day Activities in Pokhara
Early Morning: Drive to Sarangkot Hill (1,460 m) for a spectacular sunrise over the Himalayas, including Mt. Dhaulagiri, Mt. Annapurna, Mt. Manaslu, and Mt. Machhapuchare (Fish Tail). Sarangkot is also famous for paragliding and zip-lining. Morning: Return to the hotel for breakfast and some relaxation. Afternoon Tour Options: Visit Devi’s Waterfall (Patale Chhango), an impressive cascading waterfall. Explore Gupteshwor Cave, housing a Hindu shrine of Lord Shiva. Visit Brindabhasini Temple and Pokhara Old Bazaar. Explore the Seti River Gorge and, time permitting, the International Mountaineering Museum to learn about Himalayan history. Alternative Activities: Enjoy meditation, yoga, or the Singing Bowl experience at the hotel’s green lawns, or take a leisurely boat ride on Phewa Lake. Evening at leisure to enjoy the serene ambiance of Pokhara.
Day 08: Drive to Kathmandu via Bandipur
Morning: Drive back to Kathmandu, passing through the scenic hills of Bandipur with stunning views of the Annapurna range. Along the way, observe the traditional Newari culture and village life, offering a glimpse into local customs and lifestyle. Afternoon: Arrive in Kathmandu and check into your hotel. Enjoy free time for relaxation or shopping around the vibrant Thamel area.
Day 09. International departure for homeward bound.
Last day in amazing Nepal, as time for the international flight our staff will transfer you to the international airport. For the flight back home or to the next port of call, after a great enjoyable time at Ghale Gaon on an Educational Tour in Nepal.
